DAY 01: Airport-Negombo

On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality; A representative from NKAR Travels & Tours (Pvt) Limited will Welcome you and proceed to Negombo and check-in to hotel.

DAY 02: Negombo- Muthurajawela- Polonnaruwa

After Breakfast Drive to the Muthurajawela wetlands.

Muthurajawela is a marsh in Sri Lanka in the southern region of the Negombo lagoon, 30 km north of Colombo. It is the island’s largest peat bog, and is notable for its unique and highly diverse ecosystem. “Muthurajawela” translates to “Swamp of Royal Treasure”. Muthurajawela was declared as a sanctuary by the Sri Lankan government in 1996 in recognition of its vast bio-diversity. The region supports 192 distinct species of flora and 209 distinct species of fauna, including Slender Loris, as well as another 102 species of birds.

DAY 03: Polonnaruwa

After Breakfast Drive to the Polonnaruwa.

Polonnaruwa was established as the capital in the 11th century when Anuradhapura was abandoned due to foreign invasion. A dominant feature of the city is a vast irrigation lake of 5940 acres named Parakrama Samudra. The palace complex of King Parakrama Bahu is a medieval stronghold of moats, walls, guard houses, bathing ponds thick-walled multi-storeyed castle.

The Atadage, The Hetadage, Gal Potha, The Satmahal Prasada, two Hindu Shrines known as the Siva Devale, The Alahanana Pirivena a 12th century monastic university, the Lankatilleke Shrine, The Gal Vihare which is one of Sri Lanka’s most unforgettable monuments – a group of three colossal Buddha images in seated, standing and reclining poses is carved with fluid grace and almost live expression on a huge rock face.

Afternoon jeep safari to Minneriya national wild life sanctuary. Witness nature its best, with the beauty of the wild animals in their natural habitat. Inside the park you will come across Wild Boar, Elephants, Deer, Peacocks and many more animals roaming freely as nature intended them to live. The elephants gather at the water holes for drinking, immersing themselves and bathing with their young and relaxing on rocks in the park. Evening return to hotel and relax.

DAY 04: Polonnaruwa- Matale-Kandy- Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast at Hotel proceed to Kandy. En route visit a spice garden in Matale.

Continue journey to Kandy to visit Udawaththa kele sanctuary.

Udawatta Kele Sanctuary, is a historic forest reserve on a hill-ridge in the city of Kandy. It is 104 hectares (257 acres) large. During the days of the Kandyan kingdom, Udawatta Kele was known as “Uda Wasala Watta” in Sinhalese meaning “the garden above the royal palace”. The sanctuary is famous for its extensive avifauna. The reserve also contains a great variety of plant species, especially lianas, shrubs and small trees. There are several giant lianas. Many small and medium sized mammals that inhabit Sri Lanka can be seen here. Several kinds of snakes and other reptiles might be seen. Udawatta Kele was designated as a forest reserve in 1856, and it became a sanctuary in 1938.

DAY 05: Nuwara Eliya-Yala

Morning transfer to Horton Plains National Park.

The Horton Plain Plateau is a secluded wilderness sanctuary 2130 m high and offers one of Sri Lanka’s most unforgettable views. Here the land plunges down a dizzy gorge to the southern foot hills and on clear days, even a glimpse of the sea more than 80 km away. The Horton Plains is the habitat of giant Rhododendron (an evergreen shrub with large clusters of trumpet shaped flowers), tree fern primrose and daffodil orchids and birds such as the Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush and Arrenga, the Shaggy Bear monkey and the blue Mormon butterfly and many other endemic and endangered montane species. Traditionally called ‘Maha Eliya’ the Horton Plains was founded by Sir Robert Horton, the British Governor in 1831-37. and established as a nature reserve in 1969 and a National Park in 1988.

Afternoon proceed to Yala for overnight stay.

DAY 06: Yala

An Early morning and / or late afternoon jeep safari of Yala national wild life sanctuary helps you witness nature its best, with the beauty of the wild animals in their natural habitat. Inside the park, you will come across Wild Boar, Elephants, Leopards, Deer, Peacocks and many more animals roaming freely as nature intended them to live. The elephants gather at the water holes for drinking and bathing their young. You will even witness families of deer running from their predators and crocodiles resting on rocks in the park awaiting their next prey. The sight of Peacocks strutting around flaunting their colorful feathers and flamingoes are a breath-taking.

After the Safari/s you will Return to hotel and relax.

DAY 07: Yala- Bundala – Deniyaya

After breakfast visit Bundala national park.

It is an internationally important wintering ground for migratory water birds in Sri Lanka. Bundala harbors 197 species of birds, the highlight being the greater flamingo, which migrate in large flocks n 1991, Bundala became the first site in Sri Lanka to be designated a Ramsar wetland. In 2005, Bundala was declared a Man and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.

Proceed to Deniyaya. Check in at hotel in Deniyaya.

DAY 08: Sinharaja

After breakfast in the hotel, visit Sinharaja Rain Forest, a lowland rain forest which is situated across several administrative districts in Sri Lanka. It is one of the least disturbed and biologically unique forests in Sri Lanka. The Sinharaja Forest it was declared a National Wilderness Area under the National Heritage Wilderness Area Act in 1988 and later a World Heritage Site. It is Sri Lanka’s first natural resource to earn this esteemed distinction. Sinharaja Forest consists of a series of continuous ridges, aligned approximately in an East-West direction and lies between the tributaries of the Kalu Kanga in the north and the Gin Ganga in the south. Return to hotel and relax.

OTHER CONDITIONS:

Optional excursions and additional services could be provided for which we will charge additionally. Visits to wild life parks will be at client’s own risk. Safari vehicles (none air-conditioned) available are very basic with basic insurance cover (not comprehensive as in the case of vehicles used for tours).

Tipping is customary in Sri Lanka, and while it is certainly up to the discretion of each client, to a certain extent it is recommended in order to guarantee the best level of service. We can provide you with a list of recommended tipping scales if you wish, or suggest an all-inclusive tips package that can be included in the total cost and that we, as NKAR, will promise to distribute fairly to ensure the best possible service.

SPECIAL ROOM REQUESTS:

Where Special requests i.e. Room locations, Interconnecting /Adjacent rooms, Double/Twin beds, Smoking rooms & non-smoking rooms etc. are an important factor in the choice of holiday, please advise us when the booking is made. We will pass on your request to the hotel but cannot guarantee that it will be accommodated.

Unforeseen escalation in fuel prices, new taxes/levies on hotels and transportation services or any hikes in entrance fees. Any large tax hikes and new levies shall be payable extra and shall be billed accordingly with reasonable prior notice

 Your Contract for all tour arrangements is directly with our Partner Company in Sri Lanka to whom payment for the tour is made.

Any bank charges levied by the sending bank relating to transfers to our Partner Company or Complete India & Asia must be paid by the Client and added to the amount to be transferred.

2.            You pay 100% of the total 12 weeks prior to arrival in Sri Lanka or on Acceptance if less than twelve weeks – in  USD, by International Bank Transfer  to Sri Lanka

60 – 46 Days:          25% of the Tour Cost.

15 days to Day of Departure: 100 % of the Tour Cost or No Refund.

  • For International flight check-in time is 03 hours before the departure time.
  • For Domestic flight check-in time is 01 hour before the departure time.

  • Prices are subject to change with any increase in the cost.
  • Any additional expense incurred due to a change in the Government of India and Reserve Bank of India regulations pertaining to taxes, fuel hikes, air-fares and transport and any force majeure situation due to political conditions, we reserve the right to change the cost.
