7 days Three Ancient Kingdoms Tour

Introducing you to the scenic and historical Highland tour of Northern Thailand where you travel through the 3 ancient Kingdoms of Thailand. Commence your tour in Chiang Mai, capital of the Northern Lanna Kingdom, and ride to the highest mountain peak of Thailand. Visit Maehongson, City of Shan, rich in tradition and culture and home town of the Long Neck Karen tribe. You ride along a section of the Thailand Myanmar border, then head South, to the first and most powerful ancient Kingdom of Thailand-Sukhothai. You visit the ruined kingdom of Sukhothai, a world heritage site. Then onto the famous Golden triangle and Chiang Khong part of “Lan-Chang Kingdom”, then return to Chiang Mai. The tour has short sections of gravel road, to access cultural, traditional, & natural attractions.

Detailed Itinerary:

Arrival Day   Chiang Mai Distance. 0 kms.

Welcome to a great Motorcycle journey. Our tour guide will meet you at the airport, and transfer you directly to your hotel, where you can freshen-up and relax.
In the evening we will arrange a meet and greet, where you have the opportunity to meet others on your tour. Thai Bike Voyage will provide a tour briefing, and arrange a local personality  to inform you of local history, geography and answer any other questions related to the tour.

Day 1/7  : Chiangmai – Pai – MaeHongson Distance 250 Kms.

Early Morning depart Chiang Mai, and you are heading North for 30 km. This ride will familiarize you with your motorcycle. First stop is at an Orchid and Butterfly farm, before continuing on to Mork fa waterfall, where you can relax and have some refreshments. You then continue on the steep winding mountain
road until you reach “Pong Duad” Hot Spring, you then continue riding on a beautiful scenic road to Pai, where you relax for lunch. After Lunch continue riding along a mountain pass heading for Maehongson, through Indigenous jungle and mountain farms, this bikers dream road has more than 1800 curves. On route you can relax at Lod Cave, or visit the cave on a bamboo raft. Enjoy the scenic journey until you reach your hotel at Maehongson.

Day 2/7  : Maehongson – Khun Yuam – Mae Sariang Distance 338 Kms.
After early breakfast, you visit the local morning market, and see traditional local life, many  interesting foods, monks walking in their bright orange robes, and people doing their normal daily routines. You will visit  a Thai Burmese style temple, richly detailed and decorated in Gold, before heading South to visit the famous Long Neck Karen village. Here you can rest and meet the Karen Long Neck Tribe with their golden rings around their necks, arms, and legs.
You then head off on the winding mountain road, where you see a variety of scenery, including, farm lands, forest, paddy fields, and villages. Between November and February you will see beautiful wild sun flower covered mountains. You will visit the highest waterfall in Thailand (Mae Surin Waterfall), and then take an easy ride to the Thai town of Khun Yuam for lunch. After Lunch continue along the mountain pass through beautiful jungle and mountain farm land, visit Tham Kaew Komol (Calzite Crystal Cave) This cave is becoming increasingly popular, and the cave is said to be the most beautiful cave of Thailand. You continue on the road to your Hotel at Maesariang, which is a Thai Burmese Border Town.

Day 3/7  : Maesariang – Maelamad – Maesot Distance 266 Kms.

After early Morning breakfast you will be heading South along the beautifull winding road along the mountain and Moei river, which follows the Thai Burmese Border. You will rest at a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Thai – Burmese border, then continue along the border road, following the Moei river to Maerlamad, a large border Thai Town for lunch. After Lunch you visit the temple of the white jade Buddha, and continue along the winding mountain road, until it straightens on the way to Maesot, (Ancient Gateway from Asia to the Andeman Sea), where you can visit Moei border market, and do some souvenir shopping. After shopping you can relax in your Maesot hotel.

Day 4/7  : Maesod – Sukhothai – Phrae Distance 368 Kms.

Early departure and you are riding a winding road through indigenous mountain forest, where you will visit hilltribe markets and see morning local life, before continuing on to Tak . From Tak you are heading off on super highway  passing through Thai Cities and rice fields to Sukhothai, The ancient capital of Thailand.  Here you will visit Sukhothai Historical Park, where you will see the ancient ruins of Budhist culture. Riding through the ancient ruins is guaranteed to be one of your best experiences in Thailand. After Sukhothai Historical Park , you head off to visit Sri sactchanalai Historical Park, which has ruinssimilar in style to those at Old Sukhothai. You stop for lunch at a local Thai Restuarant.  After Lunch continue along the pass through indigenous mountain jungle, local villages and mountain farm land to your hotel at Phrae.

Day 5/7  : Phrae – Phayao – Chiangrai Distance 304 Kms.

Early Morning commence riding to visit local attractions such as temples, Teak houses and Phae Muang Phi Forest Park, then head off to  Phayao City, which is situated next to a large lake, you have a combination of roads, first on winding roads through local villages, farm lands,  indigenous mountain forest, then you use the super highway through local cities and rice fields until you reach Phayao City, where you stop for lunch at a restaurant on the banks of the lake. After Lunch continue along the superhighway through small cities, and farm lands, untill you reach “Wat Rongkhun”, which is a recently built unique white temple, by a famous Thai Artist, and is now a marjor tourist attraction. From here you head to your hotel at Chiangrai.

Day 6/7  : Chiangrai – ChiangKhong – Golden Triangle –Thaton Distance 374 Kms.

Early Morning commence riding through villages, farm lands, and rice fields along a winding mountain road to Chiang Khong City, where you can relax at the Thai, Laos border on the legendary  Maekhong river. You then follow the Maekong River as it winds its path through small villages until you reach the Golden Triangle.  Lunch is served at a local restaurant next to the river. After Lunch continue riding along the winding road through indigenous forest and high mountains to visit  the royal gardens Phra Tamnak Doi Tung where you can relax in the beautiful flower gardens.  You then continue along the mountain pass through the Doi Mae Salong. After resting and tasting some Chinese tea, continue on the road to your hotel at Ban Thaton.

Day 7/7  : Thaton – Chiangmai Distance 217 Kms.

Early Morning start and you are riding on a winding road through indigenous mountain forest. First stop is Chiang Doa, where you may visit Chiang Dao Cave which is the largest cave in Northern Thailand, and continue ride to Chiang Mai for lunch. At Chiang Mai you will visit Local Handicraft village and the Old City of Chiang Mai, then continue your journey up the mountain to visit Doi Suthep temple, the most famous temple in Chiang Mai. You then take an easy ride back to your hotel in Chiang Mai.

Payment.
1.On acceptance – £150 per person Acceptance Payment (non refundable) by cheque payable to “S W & M Miller” Your Contract for all tour arrangements is directly with Thailand Executive Travel, Thailand to whom payment for the tour is made.
2. Eight weeks prior to arrival in Thailand, or on Acceptance  – 50% payable in thai Baht, by Credit Card or International Bank Transfer, direct to Thailand Executive Travel, Thailand.
3. On arrival in Thailand – 50% payable, in Thai Baht, by Credit Card or Cash.

Cancellation Charges

35 days prior to arrival a cancellation fee of US$200 per person will be applicable.
30 days notice of cancellation a fee of 25% of the total amount will be applicable.
25 days notice of cancellation a fee of 50% of the total amount will be applicable
Less than 25 days notice incurs the full amount.

CONDITIONS AND TERMS   OF THAI BIKE VOYAGE MOTORCYCLE TOURS

LICENSES
All motorcycle riders must have a valid motorcycle license, and have had the licence for 4 years or more, and must be over 25 years old. AThe guest will be required to
produce their original driver license and passport prior to commencing tour.

LIABILITY
Thai Bike Voyage make every effort to safeguard our clients, we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss due to events which are beyond our control. Passengers should note that motorcycle travel involves a higher than normal risk and a signed release is required by Thai Bike Voyage from all motorcycle riders and passengers before the tour commences. Thai Bike Voyage do not guarantee pick up or drop off times and are not liable for passengers connection to flights, trains etc. Thai Bike Voyage accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings or baggage.

TRAFFIC FINES
On completion of the tour, all speeding tickets, camera speeding fines, parking fines, or any other traffic fine must be paid to Thai Bike Voyage.

MOTORCYCLE SAFE RIDING CONDITIONS
Thai Bike Voyage wishes to maintain the highest standards of safety to ensure the well being of our guests. We therefore only ride the motorcycles in conditions where there is full visibility ie. during daylight hours, and when vision is not impaired by heavy rain. Motorcycles may only be ridden from sunrise to sunset. Only in the case of late arrival may Thai Bike Voyage motorcycles be ridden, and at reduced speed to reach the next destination. When rainfall occurs speed must be reduced to a sensible safe wet road surface handling speed based on the motorcyclists skill, until the nearest shelter is reached. Itinerary Disclaimer Thai bike voyage itineraries may change as we make improvements to our tours. Our brochures are updated when tour itinerarys change or the need arises. Thai Bike Voyage reserves the right to amend the tour route due to road works, weather conditions, or our new research information on routes. No refunds will be given due to any route change.

MOTORCYCLE PROTECTIVE GEAR
Thai Bike voyage strongly recommends that all protective clothing be worn. Thai Bike Voyage provides all motorcycle protective gear. If you require any special size clothing it would be preferable to bring the protective clothing with you. In Thailand motorcycle helmets are compulsory, boots, protective clothing, and gloves for riders and passengers are strongly advised
MEALS AND ALCOHOL
Thai Bike Voyage provide breakfast at the hotel, normally an international buffet, and lunch at a restaurant during the day tour, normally Thai food , and international buffet. Due to popular demand by guests to arrange their own Dinners Thai Bike Voyage do not provide dinner. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please inform us when booking so we can make the appropriate arrangements for you. The Companion vehicle always carries cool bottled water and cool refresher towels. Snacks can be purchased during stops. Thai Bike Voyage do not provide any alcohol on Tour, and do not allow any alcohol consumption during the day while motorcycles are in use. Guests may consume alcohol in the evening when the motorcycles are not in use.

TOUR GROUP SIZE
Tour may commence with not less than 2 riders. an additional 100% must be paid for a single rider tour to commence.

PILLION PASSANGERS AND GUESTS (NON MOTORCYCLE RIDERS)
Pillion passenger on motorcycle, and guests traveling in the Companion vehicle. an additional 40% of the tour cost must be paid.

TRANSFERS
Thai Bike Voyage will collect you from the airport, hotel, or your accommodation, at the beginning of the tour. At the end of the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel, accommodation, or the airport.

FUEL
All fuel is supplied by Thai Bike Voyage.

DAMAGE OR TECHNICAL FAILURES
Any damage, mechanical or electrical failure on any Thai Bike Voyage motorcycle must be reported to the tour leader immediately.

CLOTHING AND THAI SEASONS
Casual clothing is used everywhere, except when visiting temples, where short pants and skirts are not traditionally acceptable. The 3 seasons in Thailand are Winter, Rainy season, and Summer WINTER From November to February, the days are warm, but evenings and mornings can be cool, and a light jersey may be used. Rainy Season- From July to October, the days temperature . Days are hot 21 to 30 deg. A rain coat is required. Summer –From March to June Days are 33 to 38 deg.
INSURANCE COVERAGE

PERSONAL INSURANCE
Thai bike Voyage provides the following Travel Accident Insurance included in the Tour fee:
Life Insurance Cover US$ 15,000.00
Total Disability, Loss of Sight US$ 15,000.00
Medical Accident Insurance: US$ 1,500.00
Any extended or additional Insurance coverage must be purchased by the guest. Thai Bike Voyage does not provide personal insurance coverage for any other items, other than mentioned above. Thai Bike Voyage does not provide insurance coverage for, but not limited to, illness, damage, or theft of personal belongings, and not being able to travel on a confirmed departure date.

MOTORCYCLE INSURANCE
Thai Bike Voyage has 2 choices of insurance coverage for the motorcycle.
A. Insurance with Excess Deposit
B. Collision Damage Waiver
A. Insurance with Excess Deposit
The excess deposit is held on a major credit card authorization and will be debited with the full excess deposit and refunded approximately 7 days after the motorcycle is
returned to Thai Bike Voyage. If any damage has occurred to the motorcycle, the damage costs will be converted to a debit.
The Excess costs are as below:
F 650 GS : US$ 1500.00
R 1200 GS : US$ 2250.00
B. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Cover
For an additional daily charge you can purchase a CDW to reduce your liability for the Excess included in the motorcycle insurance coverage.
