New Delhi has expanded and now encompasses residential and commercial development to the west and south, plus the satellite towns off Noida, Gurgaon and Faridabad.

Delhi stands as the capital of Modern India. Here you can see the mingling of the Old and New India, the ancient and the modern. Delhi is made up of seven ancient cities, spanning the period from the 11th to 20th centuries. Delhi has seen the rise and fall of many emperors, which has left behind a plethora of monuments that commemorate the grandeur and glory of bygone ages. Very few cities in the world can express such a profusion of architectural styles.

Delhi has overtaken Mumbai & Kolkata in recent years to become the most vibrant creative art centre in India. The city has more than twenty five galleries. Conducted tours, seminars, film shows and study classes on art appreciation, history and conservation are frequently organized. Most of the performing art centres are around Mandi House, Bhagwan Das Road.

There is an amazing range of activities – from cultural walks, talks, theatre productions and art exhibitions to films by Indian and foreign directors. One can find an option at the Habitat World at Lodhi Road as well as Siri Fort at Khel Gaon.

About Satpura National Park – The Satpura Tiger Reserve is an amalgamation of the Satpura National Park, the Bori Wild Life Sanctuary & the Pachmarhi Sanctuary. This prime wildlife habitat is relatively unknown & is rightly believed to be one of India’s best kept secrets. Here, patrons can explore true wilderness without the crowds. The park offers a diverse & unique range of activities. Apart from Jeep, Elephant & Boat Safaris, Satpura is the only park of its kind in Central India that offers Walking Safaris, giving enthusiasts a ‘one of a kind’ opportunity to explore tiger country on foot. You are likely to sight Leopards, Sloth Bear, Indian Wild Dogs, hordes of Indian Gaur, Sambhar plus other herbivores found in Central India & if lucky the magnificent Tiger. Satpura is also the Northern most range of the Malabar Giant Squirrel. The sheer diversity of animals, the presence of several bird species, numerous species of endemic butterflies & the luxury of exploring this 1,500 square km expanse of classic Central Indian wildlife habitat in so many different ways make Satpura a wildlife enthusiast.
Day 3 – 6 : In Satpura

• All meals at the lodge
• Morning & Afternoon Jungle activities
Satpura is a wonderful park in Madhya Pradesh. Until five years ago it remained virtually unknown and even now has only three lodges. A wildlife experience here is like going back to Kanha and Bandhavgarh twenty years ago. The main park is surrounded on three sides by water which has protected its forest from being decimated by the villagers, ensuring that its woodland and therefore the wildlife of the area has remained pristine. Being that the villagers live at one with the forest and that there are few lodges here, the buffer zone is also healthy and houses a wide variety of animals, it is not uncommon for leopard and wild dog to be seen at the edge of the lodge grounds. Now that the naturalists are getting to know the park and the animal territories a lot better, tiger sightings are definitely improving but wild dog, leopard and bear sightings are wonderful. It is also the only park in India where canoeing, boating and elephant safaris are possible as well as walking safaris through the core area. It is also possible to enjoy a 2 night 3 day trek through the buffer zone.

Day 7 : Satpura to Bhopal

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Drive to Bhopal – Approximately 4 hrs
• Transfer to hotel
• In the evening, Bhopal Heritage Walk
• Overnight at hotel
The city of Bhopal undulates on the banks of a vast lake spanning several square miles, which dominates its landscape and gives it a magnetic, mesmerizing quality difficult to resist. The tranquillity of the lake is perhaps, to a large extent, responsible for an air of almost deliberate indolence and complacency. It affects one unawares and stubbornly clings to the old fabric of a Bhopal that was a small, sleepy picturesque town, a town with lush forests and leisurely days of shikars, picnics and quiet fishing trips. Even today, despite becoming the capital of Madhya Pradesh and the consequent influx of people due to industrialization and growth, Bhopal retains an almost eternal quaintness and charm.
Day 8 : In Bhopal

• Breakfast at hotel
• Full day visit to Sanchi & Udaygiri
• Overnight at hotel

Sanchi is known for its Stupas, monasteries, temples and pillars dating from the 3rd century B.C. to the 12th century A.D. The most famous of these monuments, the Sanchi Stupa 1, was originally built by the Mauryan Emperor Ashoka,

A sandstone pillar fragment, shining with the proverbial Mauryan polish, lies near Stupa I and carries the famous edict of Ashoka warning against schism in the Buddhist community. Stupa 1 was found empty, while relics of the two disciples of Buddha enshrined in the adjacent Stupa 3 were carried away to England. The nearby modern temple has a reliquary containing the remains of a Buddhist teacher from another Stupa outside Sanchi.

Day 10 : In Bhopal

• Breakfast at hotel
• Morning visit to Bhimbetka
• Afternoon is free
• Overnight at hotel
Bhimbetka:- 130 rock shelters….Biggest repository of prehistoric art in India. Continuous habitation from the Early Stone Age….” One of the earliest dwellings of human beings, Bhimbetka will take you back to the history 35000 years old. In fact, the place has witnessed a cultural sequences right from the late stone age to the early historic period. The pre historic caves which are in true sense “the portal to the ancient gallery of Bhimbetka” preserves some fascinating paintings dating back to Paleolithic times. They had lived here for one hundred millennium and had created their own stone floors, left behind hand-axes, cleavers, scrapers to remove flesh and fat from the skin of slaughter animals and tiny needles made from hard quartz in all its sharp and colorful forms. Also stone hand mills for grinding grain and nuts and the colourred earth called “Ochers”.
