Thailand - cooking class Chang Mai

Departure day: Daily, year round for any group size
Learn the basics of Thai cuisine, its ingredients and method of preparation and cooking, in a relaxed informal setting. The course includes instruction, demonstration and practical cooking experience for the participants.

Day 1 Bangkok / Chiang Mai
Late afternoon transfer to the railway station for the overnight train to Chiang Mai.

Day 2 Chiang Mai

Arrive Chiang Mai early in the morning and transfer to hotel. After a short rest transfer to the cooking school about 15 minutes outside of Chiang Mai. The first day of the course will be devoted to an introduction to the main ingredients used in Thai cuisine, their uses, storage and suitable alternatives. The use of these ingredients will then be demonstrated with the assistance of the participants in preparing a typical Thai lunch. Afterwards there will be an opportunity to try a selection of Thai fruits and snacks. Transfer back to the hotel in the late afternoon

Day 3 Chiang Mai

After breakfast transfer to the cooking school.
On the second day of the course learn to make some of the pastes use a mortar and pestle that are so essential to Thai cooking. These pastes will then be used in preparing some of the country’s most popular dishes for lunch. After lunch take a tour around the school’s herb and spice garden followed by a demonstration of two more dishes, either desserts or snacks. Transfer back to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 4 Chiang Ma
After breakfast go shopping in a local market to experience selecting and purchasing necessary ingredients for a full meal. Transfer to the cooking school. With guidance prepare the ingredients and a cook a meal of four classic dishes ready for lunch. With two final dishes in the afternoon, either desserts or snacks, prepared and served with Thai fruits. Transfer back to the hotel in the late afternoon

Day 5 Chiang Mai
Tour Terminates after breakfast.

Charge for children under 12 years of age:
50% of tour rate when sharing same room with 2 adults and no extra bed is required.
75% of tour rate when sharing same room with 2 adults and one extra bed is required.

1. On acceptance – £100 or £200 per person (depending on tours taken), Acceptance Payment/Deposit (non refundable) by Bank Transfer payable to “S W & M Miller”.

Your Contract for all tour arrangements is directly with our Associate Company in Thailand, Asian Trails, Bangkok, to whom payment for the tour is made

2. FULL PAYMENT 12 weeks prior to arrival in Thailand or on Acceptance- 100% payable in US $, by Credit Card or International Bank Transfer, direct to ETC, Bangkok.

Cancellation Charges

35 days prior to arrival a cancellation fee of US$200 per person will be applicable.
30 days notice of cancellation a fee of 25% of the total amount will be applicable.
25 days notice of cancellation a fee of 50% of the total amount will be applicable
Less than 25 days notice incurs the full amount.
